Laboratory experiments on river alternate bars

  • 1. Department of Civil, Environmental and Mechanical Engineering, University of Trento, Italy

Description

Experiments performed in a 24 m-long flume with fixed straight and fixed banks but erodible bed, showing the spontaneous formation of downstream-migrating alternate bars.

The dataset provides measured properties of alternate bars at equilibrium depending on flow discharge.

Experiments funded by the project: GLORI - Glaciers-to-rivers sediment transfer in Alpine basins (Autonomous Province of Bozen-Bolzano).
