Summary
Background. Systemic sclerosis (SSс) is an autoimmune disease characterized by a complex pathogenetic mechanism of development, the study of which is impossible without the use of experimental research methods.
Aim. To analyze the available scientific information on the peculiarities of SSс modeling using hypochlorous (НOCl) acid.
Materials and methods. The review of available scientific sources was conducted in accordance with the requirements of a comprehensive and systematic search of literature using scientific databases: MEDLINE / PubMed, Cochrane Library, Google Scholar and HINARI.
Results. This article presents the results of the scientific literature analysis devoted to the study of experimental modeling methods of systemic sclerosis (SSс). The main role in this work was paid to the detailed review of the НOCl model of SSс induction; the method of its reproduction was presented and pathogenetic features of the development of sclerodermic changes in the body of laboratory animals using this technique were considered. The article also highlights the results of experimental studies designed to identify ways for correction or prevention of the SSc development, in which НOCl was used as a model.
Conclusion. The НOCl model of SSс induction is an effective method of studying the molecular basis of the pathogenesis of this disease and is an effective way of experimental testing of scientific hypotheses.
Keywords: systemic scleroderma; modeling; experimental methods; hypochloric acid; autoimmune pathology
