Description

This paper addresses some determinants of adolescent suicidality. The study was conducted on a sample of 167 adolescents in several high schools in Podgorica. The sample included 54.7% girls and 45.3% boys, aged 16-19. The results show statistically significant higher rates of suicide in adolescents who consume tobacco, narcotics and/or alcohol. A statistically significant higher degree of suicidality was also observed in adolescents who participate in gambling activities. Practical applications and possible measures for the prevention of mental health of this group of adolescents are presented in the discussion and conclusion.
