Dramatic Arts in the Context of the Act of Education

When developing the modular curriculum for the optional course in Dramatic Arts for the Early Education vocational training program, I conceived the course based on the educational role of drama. This course offers both the children and their educators an opportunity to develop and improvise real plays with various characters, props and backgrounds, using accessible everyday materials and tools. Such activities help the children develop and explore their own stage presence, diction, body language, facial mobility and self-confidence, as well as experience the enjoyment of public speaking and performance. Thus kindergarten education gains an extra instructional dimension and extends the children’s knowledge.
