Description

The theme of this European Roundtable on Sustainable Consumption and Production (ERSCP) was the  transition to a circular Europe by transforming production and consumption to make it more sustainable. The European Commission defined the EU Action Plan for Circular Economy: Closing the Loop, which aims at being instrumental in reaching the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030, in particular Goal 12 of ensuring sustainable consumption and production patterns. I spoke about the role of food in cities in the plenary session,  ‘Building synergies across the SDGs: Food, Waste and Sustainable Cities’.
