Crafting a Reproducibility Service and Archive

The Cornell Institute for Social and Economic Research has developed a successful Results Reproduction (R-Squared) service to support transparency and reproducibility at Cornell University. To date, CISER’s R-Squared team has recruited researchers from various social science disciplines across university. Altogether we have created more than 40 packages of reproduction-ready material.

As with any evolving service, expansion requires the use of formal processes to manage workflows. Over time, R-Squared has transitioned to one team working on the reproduction code and another team creating the catalog record and archiving the reproduction package. This interdepartmental effort had had to address several challenges to develop the most appropriate solution. Our efforts to bring together these separate streams involved 1) a systematic redesign of our data archive to better highlight R-Squared records and packages and 2) the integration of workflow software.
