Middle Cerebral Artery Occlusion (MCAO) surgery technique
Description
Middle Cerebral Artery Occlusion (MCAO) surgery performed on 129/Sv mice to model a 35-minutes transient focal cerebral ischemia according to a modified version of the Koizumi method. Silicone resin-coated nylon monofilament (MCAO suture, Doccol Corporation, Cat# 702234PK5Re) is inserted through the common carotid artery (CCC).
