Types and typological transformations of children's editions: from creation to the present
Description
The article deals with the history of children's editions, which dates back to the seventeenth century. Attention is paid to the visualization of children's publications in connection with the available means of illustrative design at certain times.
The typological transformations of the children's book from the beginning to the present are traced, which is closely connected with the technologies of printing. The issues of the Ukrainian children's book publishing market concerning the production of different types of books, including toys, interactive books that best meet the needs of the modern child are highlighted. It was found out what types of books in the segment of children's literature prevail in the Ukrainian publishing market and why.
The publishing activity of the Ukrainian publishers «A-BA-BA-HA-LA-MA-GA» and «Publishing House of the Old Lion» concerning the issue of various types of children's literature demanded by modern consumers is also characterized.
The information in this article can be used on the course «Children's Literature», «History of the Printing Industry», as well as for the execution of essays and theses on this topic.
