BORUS: Suite of X-ray Spectral Fitting Models for Reprocessing in AGN Tori (2018/02)

Description

This repository contains spectral fitting models for X-ray reprocessing (scattering, absorption and fluorescence) in tori of active galactic nuclei (AGN). They were calculated using the Monte Carlo radiative transfer code BORUS. Details of the calculation and examples of use in spectral analyses of AGN spectra can be found in Baloković et al. (2018). Please cite this paper and the specific file names if using the models in a publication.

The files are standard-format FITS tables easily loaded into Xspec (Arnaud 1996) as an "additive table component", i.e. using the command "model atable{table.fits}". Details regarding model parameters, example Xspec scripts defining a complete AGN model, and other relevant information are on the following web page: http://www.astro.caltech.edu/~mislavb/download/index.html

Notes

This version of the Zenodo record supplements the original FITS tables (file names ending with a) with additional ones that have slightly different parameters (b, c). It also includes versions with the reprocessed continuum (k) and lines (l) separated out, used for plotting Figure 10 in Baloković et al. (2018). See the webpage linked above for details.
