Description
Contamination of soils and groudwater pose are a huge challenges technically and economically due to difficult accessibility of the polluted areas. The newest environmental remediation technology applied so far is the injection of nanoparticles like nano zero valent iron (nZVI) into contaminated sites. This technology provides a high cost efficiency and is very simple to apply in situ. The aim of this project is to investigate the effect of nZVI to the environment and human health as the knowledge about risks caused by those nanoparticles still is at a low level.
