Description

A tools box named Jamab Application System (JAS) is presented in this study for integrated management of water resource projects in Iran. It is comprehensive software which may be applied to conjunctive management of groundwater and surface water resources, reservoir operation, flood warning systems and provision of databases. JAS has been developed through the research and practical projects performed in the research and development department of Jamab consulting engineers company. It is a flexible decision support system capable of storing, retrieving and managing data in an integrated manner. JAS includes three primary modules: 1- Data management and database 2- Mathematical simulation and optimization models 3- Interface tools among user, model and database Mathematical models and data management tools developed and used in JAS are as follows: 1- Streamflow short term forecasting 2- Streamflow long term forecasting 3- Water resources systems operations including simulation and optimization models 4- GIS and RS tools 5- Database and user interface tools Having the above-mentioned capabilities, JAS is a highly efficient system which could simply be used for integrated water resources operation and management. JAS as a multi-user network environment has been developed using client/server architecture. JAS server performs a data, map and file server simultaneously. Optimal data storing and retrieval is performed by a normalized data model. Oracle™ software is used as database management system. Operationally, this system has utility results in some large scale organization.
