Unequal working conditions in female and male dominated operations in Swedish municipalities

The Swedish Work Environment Authority has been assigned by the Swedish government to develop and implement directed initiatives aiming at preventing the exclusion of women from working life due to factors in the work environment. Increased equality at workplaces is an important issue. In 2013 we inspected female and maledominated operations in 56 municipalities from a gender perspective, home care services and technical management. Working environment deficiencies were found in both operations, but we put more demands on the home care services.
