Code and data for evaluation of the apparatus for localisation experiments
Authors/Creators
Description
This data set contains stimuli, results and code for statistical analysis of a localisation experiment where humans had to report the perceived direction of a source. The stimuli were presented via dynamic binaural synthesis with the SoundScape Renderer. The experiment was conducted to evaluate the used apparatus for localisation experiments and the experimental results are compared to two previous studies:
Hagen Wierstorf, Sascha Spors and Alexander Raake (2012): Perception and evaluation of sound fields. Proc. of the 59th Open Seminar on Acoustics, Boszkowo, Poland
Fiete Winter, Hagen Wierstorf and Sascha Spors (2017): Improvement of the reporting method for closed-loop human localization experiments. Proc. of the 142nd Audio Eng. Soc. Convention, Berlin, Germany
The source code is licensed under GPL v3.
Overview:
- The folder 'stimuli' contains the impulse responses for the SoundScape Renderer as WAV files and the anechoic audio content (white noise pulses).
- The folder 'experimental_results' contains the data saved in the listening experiment as CSV files.
- The folder 'statistics' contains a Matlab script analysing the data and converting the experimental results to CSV files for R and an R script that performs further statistical analysis.
