Overview

This repository contains the source codes and raw data that were used in the project:

"New colors for histology: optimized bivariate color maps increase perceptual contrast in histological images" by Jakob Nikolas Kather, Cleo-Aron Weis, Alexander Marx, Alexander K. Schuster, Lothar R. Schad and Frank Gerrit Zöllner.

This project will be published in PLOS ONE 2015. For a detailed description of the computational methods, please refer to the paper. Additional information is also available in the article supplements. The source code was tested in Matlab R2015a.

Licenses

The License for the source codes is available in the LICENSE file. Please note that some of the input images (IHC*) are derived from ProteinAtlas (http://www.proteinatlas.org, see Uhlén et al (2015). Tissue-based map of the human proteome. DOI: 10.1126/science.1260419). For these images, the ProteinAtlas data usage conditions apply (see http://www.proteinatlas.org/about/datausage). For all other image, the license in the LICENSE file applies.
