ALTERNATIVA DE INTERFACE CÉREBRO-MÁQUINA PARA COMUNICAÇÃO POR MEIO DE ESTÍMULOS AUDITIVOS INTENCIONADOS

This experimental study proposes to test a specific “oddball” auditory interface for better performance accuracy and response speed of simultaneous recording with auditory evoked stimuli-related brain potentials (ERPs) and their electroencephalographic recordings (EEG). The localization of activated brain areas by sound stimuli, selection and classification of their characteristics, was analyzed using a method of promediation, calculation of synchronous and mean averages. The best performance was achieved with 1000Hz audio frequencies and another result showed that using a larger frequency separation helps the subjects focus better on the desired answer. In addition, the applied methodology and the way of data processing reflected in the increase of EEG recordings in specific brain areas.
