SPIRO: Sistema de telemonitoramento de pacientes com doenças respiratórias

The spirometry test is usually performed by patients with respiratory diseases, especially chronic patients in hospital environments. Research shows that the difficulty in treatment is due to the distance from patients and specialized health facilities and the delay in care. Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to create an easy-to-use portable spirometer with an intuitive application for conducting examinations with remote monitoring for patients with respiratory diseases, to minimize unnecessary hospitalizations that could have been treated at a distance and try to decrease the lines at hospitals. A portable spirometer and a telemonitoring application were then built and tests were performed to verify the system's operation. The obtained results were satisfactory and the developed system was functional and relevant for the treatment of patients with pulmonary diseases, since there are no similar products in the market that include hardware and software for individual use.
