leabouffaut/tonal_detectors: First release of tonal detectors matlab functions
Authors/Creators
Description
This is the first release of tonal detection functions coded in Matlab and discussed in L. Bouffaut, S. Madhusudhana, V. Labat, A. Boudraa and H. Klinck "Comparative study of tonal detectors for low frequency vocalizations of blue whales," in J. Acoust. Soc. Am, (submitted)
The repository includes a function for:
- the method described in [Baumgartner, 2011] referred to as "cost-function" detector;
- the Harmonic Product Spectrum (HPS) algorithm, as described in [Cuadra, 2001];
- an instantaneous frequency estimator and;
- the Yin estimator adapted to low-frequency sounds.
In addition, a function to convert continuous functions outputs (such as the instantaneous frequency.) into separated tonals is added as well as, a function to generate synthetic observations with a controlled SNR.
