Description
Invasive alien plant species (IAPS) are plants which spread very fast and replace native species, change ecosystems, cause economy harm or even endanger human health. They are found mainly in abandoned construction sites, along the roads and railways, on abandoned agricultural lands, along the river banks. IAPS are one of the biggest challenges in European ecosystems. Seven IAPS were tested for chemical and mechanical properties at laboratory scale and three were then further selected for pilot paper production. Produced paper was and still is intended for printing of educational publications and promotional materials and on the other hand for design and development of five market-relevant useful paper products which compliant with circular economy and zero waste green technology
