adambeall/springblocksliders: Fracture and Weakening of Jammed Subduction Shear Zones, Leading to the Generation of Slow Slip Events: Supplementary Code
Creators
Description
Simplified one degree of freedom spring-block slider models were developed as part of the research described in 'Fracture and Weakening of Jammed Subduction Shear Zones, Leading to the Generation of Slow Slip Events', a manuscript submitted to Geochemistry, Geophysics, Geosystems. These are simple ODEs solved using Python scripts and solvers found in the NumPy library. Two slider models are included, one which incorporates an effective melange rheology calculated from finite-element models ('melange'). The second ('Bingham') assumes a simplified Voigt mixture and incorporate rate-and-state friction.
