Self-Efficacy, Scientific Reasoning, and Learning Achievement in the STEM PjBL Literature

Teaching and learning’s main goal, preparing students for future job opportunity and civic responsibility, has become one of the 21st century’s biggest challenges. Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) Project Based Learning (PjBL) prepares students to learn community responsibility and master their new roles as global citizens. This systematic literature review analyzed 265 papers that are relevant to the STEM PjBL. The papers were collected from well-known databases such as Web of Science® and SCOPUS by using the quality assessment and relevancy criteria. The study layout the ground of top 48 identified papers by covering three dimensions, Search result, Subject, and Research methodology. The finding shows that research on STEM PjBL in high school still is on infancy stages. Therefore future study should cover the effect of STEM PjBL teaching method in the high school on preparing students for 21st century challenges.
