Figure 1 Phylogeny and distribution of Pelobates taxa. The tree is adapted from the phylogenomic analysis of Dufresnes et al. (2019b), and the map was built from known records updated with genetic data (see accounts). Note that the distribution of P.vespertinus extends further east to Kazakhstan and Siberia.
