PHYSICAL AND SPORTS TRAINING OF CADETS OF THE ACADEMY OF THE STATE PENITENTIARY SERVICE

The aim of the work. To disscuss the need of cadets’ physical and sports training at the Academy of the State Penitentiary Service as an important factory of their professional development and self-perfection.

Methodology. The author uses the following research, pedagogical observation.

Scientific novelty. The author proves the facts that define the need of cadets’ physical and sports training at the Academy of the State Penitentiary Service, outlines the step for organizing and implementing physical and sports training at the educational institution to improve cadets’ competence level.

Conclusions. During the research, the author proves the need of cadets’ physical and sports training at the Academy of the State Penitentiary Service as a factor of their professional development and self-perfection taking into account the specific character of this profession. 

The article analyzes scientific and methodical literature of leading national and foreign specialists; regulatory legal acts concerning to the State Penitentiary Service of Ukraine. Physical and sports training is defined as a cumulative application of knowledge, tools, methods and conditions aimed at cadets’ higher physical development and ensuring their proper performance of future duties. The concept of sports training is mentioned as an important component of the special training of cadets of the Academy of the State Penitentiary Service. The essence and main components of sports training of cadets (technical, tactical, psychological and physical training) are represented. The article considers the quality and advantages of the cadets’ sports training at the Academy of the State Penitentiary Service, which are provided due to the powerful material and technical base and highly skilled teachers. Thanks to this, athletes and teams of the SPS Academy constantly take part in competitions held by the State Criminal Execution Service of Ukraine, regional and city sports committees. They are regular participants of the Regional Sports Games among students of higher educational institutions, have repeatedly and successfully participated in sports games, international competitions and tournaments. Physical and sports training play an important role in the professional activities of the staff of the SPS. According to this, the background of its powerful foundations must begin with the first year of study in specialized schools. Cadets’ should know the algorithm of their actions, be able to recognize the signs of situations that can threaten their life and health, control themselves and be confident of their physical abilities. These qualities are also facilitated by sports training. It should be noted that the use of special tools contribute to the quality of the development of professional skills and abilities during the training.
