Description

Cities are the engines of growth and indicators of progress. Besides, they have widespread implications on environment and human society. Depletion of green cover, vehicular emission, population growth, sanitation, slums, pollution, and many other unwanted human activities are mainly answerable for environmental issues of urban area. The present paper deals with the threat of environmental issues and suggests some possible remedial measures for sustainability of urban places with special reference to Sonipat city. Improvement in the environment is a combined arrangement of the various agencies like government, NGOs, the citizens and large domestic companies to participate in a collective arrangement to educate the people for improving the environment.
