Description

Gaia provides a unique opportunity to review distances, luminosities, as well as the overall photometric and variability properties of Galactic Post-AGB stars. In this contribution we present an initial analysis of the information contained in the Gaia DR2 archive for all the stars in the Toruń Catalogue of Post-AGB Stars (https://www.ncac.torun.pl/postagb) and compare these properties with those of AGB stars, their immediate evolutionary precursors. In particular, we have considered AGB stars with different chemical properties: O-rich AGB stars, C-rich AGB stars, S-type AGB stars, SiC AGB stars and the extreme class of OH/IR stars, the most massive and obscured precursors in the AGB.
