Purpose of the study is to identify and analyze the major challenges and problems of sports in India. Study refers the political, economical, resource, management, infrastructural areas of Indian sports. Directors of Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit, University of Calicut, and SRM IST were interviewed. The main problems and challenges of sports in India were identified. Fraudulent conduct &lack of good management, Inequalities in society and economy, infrastructural deficiency, Policy lacunae, Available allocation of resources are the major problem in India. The existence of these problems shows the lack of legal and moral regulation in sports. Suggested solutions will not fundamentally help to fully escape such problems as corruption or the impact of politics on different aspects of life but will help greatly to guide the sport in the direction of honest competitions. With the further development of society and technologies new challenges and problems will appear in sports however it will always be possible to find an appropriate solution for any problem
