FIGURE 4. Lycodon gibsonae spec. nov., FMNH 180144, preserved paratype, compared with an adult L. fasciatus of the same size (FMNH 270716, Nan Province, Thailand). A: dorsal view of body; B: ventral view of body. Compare the shape of the bands which are well defined posteriorly in L. gibsonae spec. nov. whereas in Lycodon fasciatus posterior bands are much more strongly speckled with dark dots than anterior bands, up to turning nearly entirely brown.
