Diseño y fabricación de lente intraocular para el tratamiento de la pseudofaquia para miopía magna. A propósito de un caso.
Description
This poster describes all technical problems in relation with standard UNE-EN ISO 11979-2 when designing and manufacturing a high negative power intraocular lens (IOL). The IOL is -14.00 diopters (D) with neutral spherical aberration, for a real case of a patient with -25.00 D in spectacles plane.
IOL in combination with artificial corneal of IOLA PLUS (Rotlex. Israel), shows a very low modulation transfer function (MTF), which means IOL can not be accepted acording to ISO 11979-2.
Theoretical calculations with the ray tracing software Zemax (Radiant Vision Systems. USA) confirms the low MTF value is due to the long focal length of -14.00 D IOL and IOLA cornea combination, with the IOL having a good optical quality.
