Description

The continuous penetration of renewable energy sources (RES) in the electricity supply poses stability and quality issues for the grid. One promising and elegant solution to smooth these problems is the use of battery systems (BS). This paper describes a simple and robust concept, dBATe, for an optimised and coordinated control of multiple battery systems distributed in a power distribution system, supporting the operation of the grid through regulation of voltages and power flows in the grid.
