Description
This full release marks the end of the ERC Crossreads funded development work on the I.Sicily corpus (project ran 01.10.20 to 30.09.26). As such, the corpus now has extensive linguistic, palaeographic and petrographic data incorporated, and with limited exceptions all files are now at least in draft format and contain a reliable text (key exceptions: (a) Punic files are mostly unedited, but will be updated very shortly; (b) a number of 'stub' files containing petrographic data and minimal metadata, reflecting mostly unpublished fragmentary material, also to be updated shortly). The corpus is still not formally 'complete' (later Roman material from Catania and Siracusa is still being incorporated), and work on the corpus as a whole continues; but the corpus, with almost 5,000 Sicilian records, of which c.4,000 are on stone or metal, now confidently represents the most complete available corpus of stone and metal inscriptions for Ancient Sicily.
