Description
Standard (3+1)-dimensional General Relativity and Kaluza–Klein scalar-tensor extensions confront five foundational mathematical and structural problems: the arbitrariness of the spacetime dimensionality (d_t, d_s, D) and metric signature, the presence of off-diagonal graviphoton ghost modes (g_{μ2}) and closed timelike loops on unprojected S¹ fibers, the ad-hoc introduction of scalar kinetic parameters (ω_BD), matter-coupling constants (α_0), and scalar potentials V(ψ), the breaking of four-dimensional Maxwell conformal invariance in D ≠ 4 bulk geometries, and the occurrence of horizon and interior curvature singularities (K_5 → ∞) for uncoupled scalar fields under Bekenstein's no-hair identity and the Janis–Newman–Winicour (JNW) singularity theorem.
In this foundational monograph (Paper 0, Cycle 0: Principia Geometrica), we establish the complete, purely deductive mathematical foundations of Covariant Bitemporal Geometrodynamics (CBG) on the five-dimensional warped orbifold fiber bundle M_{3,2} = (ℝ_{t₁} ×_Φ S_{t₂}) × Σ₃ (S_{t₂} ≡ S¹_{t₂}/ℤ₂ = [0, π L_0]) with metric signature (-,-,+,+,+) and integer dimensions (d_t, d_s, D) = (2, 3, 5) (Axiom 1.1). Every theorem, operator trace, functional determinant, jet-space basis polynomial, and ordinary differential equation (ODE) dynamical system in this work is deduced strictly by mathematical necessity ([D]) from Axiom 1.1 without introducing external fitting parameters, empirical constants, or ad-hoc functional ansätze. All 196 symbolic proof assertions (including 64 metric-first tensor derivations computing Christoffel → Riemann → Ricci → Einstein → Kretschmann directly from explicit multi-coordinate metric components) across Sections 1–5 are verified with zero residual in the companion Python computer-algebra suite verify_paper0_principia_geometrica.py.
We establish five principal mathematical results across Sections 1–5:
1. Pointwise Linear Algebra, the 30 × 30 Symplectic Operator J_30, Algebraic Uniqueness of (2, 3, 5), and ℤ₂ Orbifold Parity Projection (Section 1) [D]: We construct the orthogonal tangent projectors P_{T₂}, P_{Σ₃}, P_{Σ₄}, I_5 with traces (2, 3, 4, 5), endomorphism dimensions (4, 9, 25), weight fractions (2/5, 3/5), and canonical trace ratios (5/3, 3/2, 2/25, 1/4); partition the N_sym = 15 independent components of g_{AB} into 10 ⊕ 4 ⊕ 1 = 15 with subbundle-to-metric trace ratios (1/3, 1/5, 4/15); construct the 30 × 30 symplectic phase-space operator J_30 (J_30² = -I_30, det J_30 = +1, Tr(J_30^T J_30) = N_Cartan = 30) and prove that combining the Cartan–symplectic phase-space identity d_t d_s D = D(D+1) ⟺ (d_t - 1)(d_s - 1) = 2 with Hodge Lie-algebraic self-duality dim so(d_s) = d_s(d_s - 1)/2 = d_s ⟺ d_s = 3 uniquely forces (d_t, d_s, D) = (2, 3, 5) without any auxiliary ordering hypothesis; and prove that the 5 × 5 orbifold reflection matrix R_{ℤ₂} = diag(+1,-1,+1,+1,+1) deletes all four off-diagonal graviphoton zero modes g_{μ2} ≡ 0 (splitting Sym²(T*M_{3,2}) into 11 ℤ₂-even and 4 ℤ₂-odd components), trivializes the topological fundamental group π_1(S¹_{t₂}/ℤ₂) = {0} while preserving the infinite dihedral orbifold group π_1^{orb}(S_{t₂}) = ℤ₂ * ℤ₂ ≃ D_∞, and factorizes det g_proj = -Φ² g_4 > 0, √|g_5| = Φ √(-g_4), and g^{22}_proj = -Φ⁻².
2. First- and Second-Order Differential Operators, Kugo–Ojima Nilpotency, Gauss–Codazzi Reduction, and 4D Maxwell Weyl Invariance (Section 2) [D]: We deduce the Coordinate-Shift (Lie derivative) operator L_ξ g_proj, the first-class gauge constraint C_μ[ξ] = g_{μα} ∂_2 ξ^α - Φ² ∂_μ ξ² = 0, and the 4 × 4 nilpotent Kugo–Ojima / BRST quartet matrix (Q^{(n)})² = 0_4 (rank Q^{(n)} = nullity Q^{(n)} = 2 ⟹ H_inv^{(n)} = {0}); compute all 75 components of the Levi-Civita connection Γ^C_{AB} (proving that the logarithmic dilaton gradient ∂_μ ψ = ∂_μ ln Φ = Γ²_{2μ} is an intrinsic Christoffel component of the 5D metric); prove the exact Gauss–Codazzi curvature reduction R^{(5)} = R^{(4)} - (2/Φ) Δ_4 Φ and volume density identity R^{(5)} √|g_5| = Φ R^{(4)} √(-g_4) - 2 ∂_μ(√(-g_4) g^{μν} ∂_ν Φ); prove that the 5D wave operator Δ_5 has exact unit zero-mode phase and group speed v_phase = v_group = 1 (c_GW = c), spectral gap k_gap = (L_0 Φ_∞)⁻¹, and repulsive +n²/(L_0² Φ²) Wheeler–DeWitt centrifugal barrier (Weyl limit-point self-adjoint on L²(ℝ_+, dr) for c_ψ ≥ 1); and prove the exact 4D conformal scale invariance Ω_c⁴ Ω_c⁻² Ω_c⁻² ≡ 1 (δI_curl / δψ ≡ 0) of the antisymmetric curl density if and only if d_macro = D - 1 = 4 ⟺ D = 5.
3. Variational Master Action I_{3,2}, Weyl Rescaling, 5D Geodesics, Universal Coupling Ratio α_0² = 1/3, and Khronon Diffeomorphism Noether Identity (Section 3) [D]: Integrating R^{(5)} √|g_5| over S_{t₂} = [0, π L_0] yields the stationary Jordan-frame induced-matter equations G_{μν}^{(4)} = T_{μν}^{(Φ)} = (1/Φ)(∇_μ ∂_ν Φ - g_{μν} Δ_4 Φ) with trace wave relation Δ_4 Φ = (1/3) Φ R^{(4)} = 0; the canonical Weyl rescaling g̃_{μν} = e^ψ g_{μν} (ψ ≡ ln(Φ/Φ_∞)) uniquely cancels the e^{±ψ} prefactor at d_macro = 4 and generates the ghost-free Einstein-frame kinetic term -(3/2)(∇̃ψ)² from -(1/4)(d_macro - 1)(d_macro - 2)|_{d_macro=4} = -3/2; the 5D geodesic operator δ∫ds_5 = 0 yields the conserved secondary-time Noether invariant P_2 = -Φ² dx²/dλ = const, the causal turning-point barrier Φ(x) ≥ |P_2|/ε_5 > 0, the effective geometric line-weight μ_geom(ψ) = e^{-ψ/2} √(ε_5² - P_2² Φ_∞⁻² e^{-2ψ}), and the rescaled force law ũ^α ∇̃_α ũ^μ = -(d ln μ_geom / dψ) h̃^{μν} ∂_ν ψ; and requiring the Master Action I_{3,2}[g̃_{μν}, ψ, Θ^{(1)}, A_μ, x^A] coupled to the primary temporal foliation norm A ≡ (-g^{AB}_proj ∂_A Θ^{(1)} ∂_B Θ^{(1)})⁻¹ = (-e^ψ g̃^{μν} ∂_μ Θ^{(1)} ∂_ν Θ^{(1)})⁻¹ to be stationary (δI_{3,2} = 0) yields the complete field equations, fixes the universal 5D geodesic fifth-force ratio to α_0² = (1/2)/(3/2) = 1/3 (μ_UV = 4/3), and proves the exact diffeomorphism Noether identity ∇̃^μ[T̃_{μν}^{(ψ)} + T̃_{μν}^{(V)}] = [(3/2) Δ̃_4 ψ - ∂_ψ V_spec] ∂_ν ψ + 2 E_Θ ∂_ν Θ^{(1)}.
4. Spectral Geometry, Jacobi–Poisson Heat Trace, Ray–Singer Determinant, Q̂_17, Jet-Orthogonal Basis of W_3 = Span{e^{-2ψ}, e^{-4ψ}, e^{-6ψ}}, and 5D Gauss–Bonnet Cancellation (Section 4) [D]: We prove the quadratic Kretschmann split K_5 = K_4 + (4/Φ²)(∇_μ ∂_ν Φ)², the Gibbons–Hawking–York extrinsic trace split K = K^{(4)} + n^μ ∂_μ ψ (cancelling the bulk boundary divergence -2∮ n^μ ∂_μ Φ), the 1D radial throat holonomy Δℓ_∂^{(n)} = 2n ln Φ_∞ ⟹ exp(Δℓ_∂^{(n)}) = Φ_∞^{2n} across n ∈ ℤ_+ reflections in D_∞, and the 4D S³_ρ flux 4π² C_throat; derive the Jacobi–Poisson heat trace Θ_{S_{t₂}}(s; Φ) = π L_0 Φ / √(4π s) + 1/2 + Θ̃_wind(s; Φ) with its exact +1/2 McKean–Singer Neumann mirror-boundary defect; derive the Ray–Singer analytic torsion determinant -ζ'_{S_{t₂}}(0; Φ) = ln(2π L_0 Φ), the 5D Epstein–Casimir winding density Ṽ_wind(ψ) = -3 ζ_R(5) / (128 π⁶ L_0⁴ Φ_∞⁴) e^{-6ψ}, and the 17 × 17 bulk-plus-boundary McKean–Singer grading operator Q̂_17(Φ) = Φ⁻¹ I_15 ⊕ (2Φ)⁻¹ I_2 (D_config = 15 + 2 = 17, D_config / N_sym = 17/15, Tr Q̂_17 = 16/Φ, det Q̂_17 = (1/4) Φ⁻¹⁷); prove that the k = 0, 1, 2 Seeley–DeWitt Mellin moments M_k(Φ) ∝ Φ^{-(4-2k)} (with ζ_R(5), ζ_R(3) from the 11 ℤ₂-even metric modes at k = 0, 1 and η(1) = ∑_{w=1}^∞ (-1)^{w-1}/w = ln 2 from the 4 ℤ₂-odd metric modes g_{μ2} at k = 2) multiplied by the 4D Weyl Jacobian e^{-2ψ} span W_3 = Span{e^{-2ψ}, e^{-4ψ}, e^{-6ψ}}, whose 2-jet evaluation map at ψ = 0 has non-singular Vandermonde determinant det(M_jet) = -32/3 ≠ 0, uniquely decomposing V_spec(ψ, A) into the two jet-orthogonal basis polynomials P_vac(ψ) = e^{-2ψ}(3 - 3e^{-2ψ} + e^{-4ψ}) ≡ 1 - (1 - e^{-2ψ})³ and P_mass(Δψ) = (3/16) e^{-2Δψ}(1 - e^{-2Δψ})²; and prove Lovelock's 5D Gauss–Bonnet Hessian cancellation G_5 = G_4 + (8/Φ) G^{(4)μν} ∇_μ ∂_ν Φ and √|g_5| G_5 = Φ √(-g_4) G_4 + 8 ∂_μ(√(-g_4) G^{(4)μν} ∂_ν Φ) alongside the full Gilkey–DeWitt a_2 polynomial.
5. Exact Lie Symmetry Reductions, the Bekenstein–JNW Horizon Theorem, Inner Cauchy Horizon r_- > 0, and 5D Null Energy Condition Violation (Section 5) [D]: We deduce the seven canonical Lie symmetry reductions of I_{3,2}: (i) spatially homogeneous SO(4), E(3), SO(3,1) and Bianchi-I ODEs, proving frame-invariant shear conservation d/dt₁(a³ σ^i_j) = 0 ⟺ d/dt_{1,un}(a_un³ Φ σ^i_{j,un}) = 0 and the k = +1 nonsingular bounce acceleration ä(t_*) = -(a_*/6)(E_tot + 3 P_tot) > 0; (ii) Fréchet linearization in longitudinal gauge, proving zero linear anisotropic slip Φ_N = Ψ_N and the screened Helmholtz–Yukawa kernel μ_eff(a, k) = 1 + (1/3) k² / (k² + a² m_ψ²) ∈ [1, 4/3); (iii) static spherically symmetric ℝ_{t₁} × SO(3) radial ODEs and the Bekenstein–JNW Horizon Singularity Theorem, proving that any uncoupled potential (∂_A V_spec ≡ 0) forces either ψ(r) ≡ 0 or K_5(r_h) ∝ (r - r_h)⁻⁴ → ∞, so that horizon-regular scalar hair (|K_5(r_h)| < ∞ with ψ ≢ 0) exists on M_{3,2} if and only if ∂_A V_spec(ψ, A) ≠ 0; (iv) static electro-vacuum ℝ_{t₁} × SO(3) × U(1) reduction, deriving the exact Kottler–Reissner–Nordström–de Sitter solution, the de Sitter surface gravity κ_dS = H_∞ (a_dS = H_∞ / (2π)), and the closed-form inner Cauchy horizon r_- = (1/2)(r_h - √(r_h² - 2 Q_e²)) > 0 terminating the trapped region; (v) interior domain continuation (r < r_h), proving that P_2 ≠ 0 injects the repulsive source +(C_Ω / r²) e^{2λ - 3ψ} > 0 enforcing r_turn > 0, while the khronon stress tensor satisfies the exact 5D Null Energy Condition (NEC) violation identity T̃_{μν}^{(V)} k^μ k^ν = -2 A (∂_A V_spec) e^{2λ} (k^r)² < 0 ⟺ A ∂_A V_spec > 0, ensuring pointwise curvature boundedness sup_{r ≥ r_min} |K_5(r)| < ∞; and (vi)–(vii) the O(4)-symmetric 4D radial throat Wronskian ρ³ ψ'(ρ) = C_throat and the ISO(3,1) fiber localization ODEs G_{22}^{(5)} = 6(σ')², Israel junction jump σ'' = 2κ[δ(x²) - δ(x² - π L_0)], and boundary wavefunction overlap integral Y_{ij}(μ_i, μ_j).
