GeoAI-THM Studio v0.1.0: an agent that builds and runs verified subsurface heat, flow, deformation and transport models with OpenGeoSys, with code, verification record and technical notes

GeoAI-THM Studio is a free, noncommercial agent that turns a plain-language request (English or Korean) into an OpenGeoSys 6.5.8 model of subsurface heat conduction, groundwater flow, heat transport, solute transport, consolidation, thermal stress or coupled thermo-hydro-mechanical processes, runs it, and reports values computed from the run, checking each number in the answer against the run, the model inputs and the request. The language model edits a typed model tree through tools ordered by a state machine; a translator writes the OpenGeoSys input; a configuration is computed only after its verification cases have passed with the installed versions; and an output guardrail rejects answers whose numbers cannot be traced to the run, the model inputs or the request.

This record contains: (1) the source code of the geoai-thm-studio Python package 0.1.0 (command-line chat, Model Context Protocol server, tools, translator, mesh step, verification cases, examples, instructions and knowledge base) with its tests; (2) the verification record of 27 cases against exact solutions, official OpenGeoSys benchmarks and, for a demonstration configuration, consistency checks (21 within 1 %, all within 2.5 %); (3) the scenarios, scripts and result files of the tests with small language models (a Claude Haiku stand-in and a final check with gpt-6-luna and gpt-6.1-terra), the recomputation audit and the point-source element-size sweep; (4) the technical note in English and Korean (PDF); (5) the preprint prepared for the ESS Open Archive (PDF, the version of this release); (6) the installable wheel geoai_thm_studio-0.1.0.

Install: pip install "geoai-thm-studio[mesh-gmsh] @ git+https://github.com/geoaialignment/geoai-thm-studio@v0.1.0" (supported: macOS 15 or later on Apple Silicon, Python 3.12; experimental: Linux x86_64, tested so far only under emulation). The software is free for noncommercial use, but the chat agent calls the OpenAI API with the user's own key, and OpenAI bills those calls to the user's account. Repeat the verification with thmstudio verify; the scripts in scripts/ rebuild every reported number from results/ and runs/.

Results are for learning and first estimates, not for design, licensing or safety assessments.
