Geometric Correction to the Casimir Effect in the Zhang Effective Metric

Authors/Creators

Description

The Casimir effect originates from zero-point fluctuations of the electromagnetic field between closely spaced conducting plates and serves as a foundational test of quantum field theory. In this work, we study the modification of the Casimir force induced by the internal S³ orientation field in the rotational-order geometric unification framework.

Using the Zhang Effective Metric, we show that electromagnetic boundary conditions on the conducting plates induce a gradient of the internal orientation field, altering the dispersion relation of vacuum electromagnetic modes. We derive the corrected Casimir energy and force, which contain a geometric correction term proportional to (η/d)², where d is plate separation and η is the characteristic geometric length of the framework.

The correction adds a 1/d⁶ component to the standard 1/d⁴ Casimir force. Although the effect is tiny for currently accessible separations, it offers a tabletop, high-precision falsifiable test complementary to astrophysical gravitational-wave probes of the theory.
