Corrigible Structuralism: An Outline of Daopological Philosophy — From the Speakable Dao to Computable, Auditable, and Rewritable Knowledge Structures

Description

This paper gathers the author's previously published work on Daopology, Kernel Epistemology, Symbolic Structurology, the Self-Certification Amplitude Δ, Daopological Structural Annealing (DSA) and the Daopology Engine, and cross-cultural symbol analysis into a unified philosophical programme: Corrigible Structuralism. It advances three core theses. First, the ontological thesis: the basic unit of the speakable world is neither substance, nor proposition, nor pure relation, but the structural kernel K = (G, Σ, B, Θ)—a measurable composite of generators, structural graph, boundary conditions, and parameter space. The kernel is neither an ontological ultimate nor a mere convention; it is the minimal stable descriptive unit of the "speakable Dao." Second, the epistemological thesis: epistemic progress is not the accumulation of true beliefs but the joint improvement of structural kernels over task sets, whose primary value is corrigibility; corrigibility is operationalised as task-set expandability, calibratable Δ, comparable edit cost, and declarable boundaries. Third, the computational thesis: cognition is not gradient flow on a continuous energy landscape but search in a discrete combinatorial space under an annealing acceptance criterion; large-language-model generation is a sampling paradigm, DSA audit is a search paradigm, and together they form the "generate-constrain-audit-rewrite" cognitive loop. The three theses yield an intermediate position that neither commits to ontological monism nor collapses into relativism: weakly unified corrigible structuralism. The paper further argues that this programme stands to structural realism, Popperian fallibility, Kuhnian paradigm theory, Wittgensteinian language games, and process philosophy in relations of "inheritance-revision-boundary declaration," and it specifies the significance for next-generation AI: the angle of Corrigible Structural Intelligence, not the angle of "larger models."
