Description

The aim of this study is to analyze the relationship between the adoption of technology by employees and employee performance in organizations. This is important as companies invest heavily in enterprise systems, artificial intelligence, and collaborative technologies. The aim is to identify the factors that can transform the adoption of such technology into improvements in employee performance, whether in terms of task performance, innovation and adaptability. The methods of this study include review of academic articles, empirical research, conceptual models and meta-analysis, published between 2019 and 2024. The review used the PRISMA framework. The results of the review indicate that while adoption of technology by employees can positively impact employee performance, it can also lead to an increase in job burnout, technostress and withdrawal behavior. It can also positively impact innovation. From the review, it was determined that while the adoption of technology can positively impact employee performance, employee and psychological resources can act as a buffer against the negative effects on employee performance. It can be helpful for employees to maintain their social relations and support at work, especially during digitally-mediated work. The review identified the adoption of technology as a necessary but insufficient condition for performance improvement. The negative impact of psychological resources can be reduced through strategies that are humancentered and integrated with technology, especially in the context of digitally mediated work.
