Description
ABSTRACT
Domperidone is a prokinetic and antiemetic medication. It is a member of the class of medications
known as dopamine antagonists. Stearic acid and oleic acid were utilized as liquid and solid lipids in
the high-pressure homogenization method to produce dopamine-loaded nanostructured lipid carriers
(NLCs). Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, or FTIR, was used to characterize the generated
NLCs. It was discovered that the encapsulation efficiency ranged from 64 to 86%. According to
NLC's in-vitro release profile, every batch was evident. continuous medication release for a full
twelve hours. Based on the medication release characteristics in vitro The NLCs' spherical shape and
smooth surface were demonstrated by visualization experiments, and it was also observed that the
drug release from NLCs rose with the solid-lipid ratio. Among F9 is the formulation with the highest
drug release out of the nine. Based on the data collected for this study, it appears that dopamine may
be delivered by nanostructured lipid carriers, which may decrease the frequency of doses. Dependent
variables, including zeta potential, particle size, and in-vitro drug release, were measured using
Design Export 13 software and 32 factorial design Central composite design with Response surface
approach. Preliminary data showed that increasing the stabilizer concentration and sonication cycles
led to a decrease in zeta potential (-14.0) and particle size (243 nm) and an increase in drug release
(96.33±0.02).
