Description
Abstract. Schrödinger’s Piano is a twelve-movement overview of G-Theory, a research program that derives
the dimensionless structure of physics from a single arithmetic fact — the powers of 2 and 3 never meet —
realized as the mode structure of a vibrating string, with zero adjustable parameters: one incommensurability,
heard as the relationship between the octave and the fifth, unfolding under least action into a ladder of exact
structural seats. The twelve movements exhibit that unfolding from inside. The rest value is introduced as the
archetype of the state, read only at the quiet limit and never by a louder strike; the wheel of sevenths displays
its two exact orders — one for storage, one for performance — joined by a conserved exchange; temperament
is examined as the treaty by which music, and in parallel physics, traded the exact for the universal; the dou‐
ble-slit receives an intuitive definition; non-locality is exhibited as the natural face of harmonic structure; Bell’s
bound is set beside an exact rational seat one part in sixty thousand above it; the dipole of the microwave sky
is read as cosmology’s daily practice of subtracting the observer; and a third idea about the constants of na‐
ture is proposed, with a new dimensionless constant nominated to the tables. The method is uniform and stat‐
ed here once: claims that are exact are stated as exact and permit no freedom of interpretation; interpreta‐
tions are owned as interpretations; conjectures are named and never promoted. The exact column re-derives
itself in a public machine-checked suite in about ninety seconds, and the closing movement maps every chap‐
ter to its technical companion on the public record.
