Workplace injuries and fatal work injuries by state and industry (BLS SOII and CFOI)

Authors/Creators

  • 1. Probative Growth

Description

How often workers are hurt on the job in each state and industry, and how many die: the nonfatal injury and illness rate per 100 full-time workers for private-industry sectors and detailed industries in the states BLS publishes (Survey of Occupational Injuries and Illnesses, 2024), and the number and rate of fatal work injuries in every state and DC, with the major cause and the industry rate (Census of Fatal Occupational Injuries, 2024). Every record carries its BLS series or table. Survey estimates carry a relative standard error and a noise flag; figures BLS does not publish are marked suppressed and never filled in. It is statistics about industries and states, never about a named employer.

3512 records (status: P 2942, U 570). Canonical page: https://probativegrowth.com/data/work-injuries/. API: https://probativegrowth.com/data/v1/work-injuries/index.json. Published by Probative Growth (probativegrowth.com), a marketing agency for US law firms; not a law firm. Not legal advice. These are survey and census statistics from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, kept for planning. A rate describes a whole industry in a state, not any one employer, and it does not say whether anyone has a workers' compensation claim.
