Biomimetic Swarm-Constellation for Adaptive Solar Radiation Management (SRM) - A Decentralized Micro-Satellite Architecture

Authors/Creators

Description

Current space-based geoengineering concepts fail due to the rigidity and ecological risks of solid space mirrors. We propose a decentralized, bio-inspired satellite architecture modeled after macro-atmospheric cloud structures.

The Architecture:

1. Decentralized Nodes: Utilizing thousands of ultra-lightweight, automated micro-satellites (600mm x 600mm, 4.2kg each, 0.36 sqm effective area) instead of a singular massive hardware structure.

2. Layered Stacking Logic: The swarm utilizes a dynamic geometric mesh that can self-assemble, stack, and adjust its spatial density in real-time based on real-time solar irradiance telemetry via Inter-Satellite Link (Laser/RF Mesh).

3. Fluid Albedo Scattering: Mimicking the earth's natural cloud albedo effect, the network acts as a scattering filter rather than a solid deflector. This ensures planetary cooling (1-2% solar reduction) while completely preserving the integrity of global tropospheric wind patterns and regional precipitation cycles.

Feasibility: N = 1x10^12 sqm / 0.36 sqm = 2.7 Billion nodes, optimized to 400 Million with 90% honeycomb packing. Pilot LEO test requires only 10,000 agents. Minimizes payload launch weight and eliminates localized climate disruptions. This framework establishes a safe, scalable, and highly precise method to manage global temperatures.

Author Note: I have designed a basic prototype of this 600mm agent and can build it myself, but I need lab access. I am a 16-year-old independent researcher from Pakistan. I do not need heavy funding, only mentorship and lab access. I want to change the world, not waste life only studying.
