Correction and supersession notice

This author-approved 2026.10-rc2 educational overview supersedes unsupported review-method and generalized efficacy claims in earlier versions, including v10 (10.5281/zenodo.17973755). The accompanying correction notice identifies the withdrawn assertions. Earlier versions remain part of the record.

The earlier manuscript reported independent duplicate reviewers, agreement statistics, approximately 1,200 records, 45–50 included studies, formal appraisal and SANRA scores. Supporting records were not supplied for verification. These assertions are withdrawn from the corrected work. The earlier generalized opioid-reduction, length-of-stay, safety and dosing claims should not be relied on as verified findings of this review.

Educational overview

This selected-source discussion distinguishes intraoperative opioid avoidance, opioid-sparing care and an entirely opioid-free recovery. It discusses named published evidence on important adverse outcomes, IV-lidocaine safety and gabapentinoid benefit/harms. It reports no original clinical data, formal systematic/scoping methods, pooled analysis, verified screening counts or clinical validation.
