Topography-Guided Martian Ecopoiesis (TGME): A Falsifiable Comparative Framework for Water Retention, Resource Demand, and Biological Persistence

Description

Topography-Guided Martian Ecopoiesis (TGME) — Version 0.2

This research presents a revised, falsifiable scientific framework investigating whether Martian topography can provide measurable advantages for local water retention, energy efficiency, and potential biological persistence.

The study examines five Martian locations: Hellas, Utopia, Arcadia, Valles Marineris, and Terra Cimmeria, using previously reported Mars Climate Database v6.2 results.

The revised framework introduces improved mathematical models for water conservation, thermal balance, chemical processes, and microbial population dynamics. It establishes testable criteria for evaluating whether topographic conditions can reduce water loss or external energy requirements by at least 20% compared with suitable reference locations.

Preliminary findings indicate that increased atmospheric pressure in low-lying Martian regions is insufficient, by itself, to establish persistent exposed liquid water or self-sustaining biological environments.

The research proposes numerical and laboratory validation procedures to assess the potential engineering advantages of Martian terrain.

Research status: This manuscript is a preliminary, non-peer-reviewed research preprint. Previously reported numerical results have not yet been independently reproduced, and the proposed experimental framework requires further validation.
