Intersectional Pathways in European Research Careers: Lived Experiences of Women Researchers and Policy Implications
Authors/Creators
Description
This report presents findings from 15 semi-structured interviews conducted between April and August 2026 with women researchers at recognised (R2) and established (R3) career stages across Europe. Undertaken by Working Group 4 (Gender Equity and Fostering Inclusiveness) of the COST Cross-Cutting Activity on the Career Development of Young Researchers, the deliverable explores how gender intersects with personal circumstances and institutional structures to shape academic career development. The findings provide qualitative insights into researchers' lived experiences rather than representative estimates of inequalities across European research systems.
