Description

Deep-research article applying an Ayurvedic lens — labeled traditional education only — to type 2 diabetes, agni, and daily metabolic routine, built around what human studies actually measured. In United States data for 2023, an estimated 40.1 million people (12.0% of the population) had diagnosed or undiagnosed diabetes (CDC National Diabetes Statistics Report). In age-adjusted data from 2019-2021, diagnosed diabetes prevalence among adults was 12.1% among non-Hispanic Black adults compared with 6.9% among non-Hispanic White adults (NIDDK / CDC). In one randomized crossover trial with 41 adults, walking 10 minutes after each main meal was followed by lower post-meal glucose exposure than the same total walking at an unspecified time (iAUC ratio 0.88; evening meal 0.78) (Reynolds 2016). In 16 randomized studies with 1,820 participants, yoga and walking alongside oral diabetes medicines were followed by lower fasting glucose and lower A1c than no regular exercise, with wide confidence intervals (Dhali 2023). In prospective cohorts totaling 107,756 participants, short sleep, long sleep, and difficulty falling or staying asleep were each associated with higher later incidence of type 2 diabetes (Cappuccio 2010). No study tested an Ayurvedic assessment, no diabetes complications were measured, and no product is named. Evidence grade: EMERGING for the routine practices; TRADITIONAL-ONLY for the Ayurvedic framing. Educational article from the Buddha Ayurvedic School of Medicine: https://buddha.hospital
