Description
MATLAB implementation of the one-dimensional reaction–diffusion model of tau-driven, spatially moving hotspots of amyloid-β secondary nucleation.
Contents: hotspot_params.m (reference and dimensionally mapped parameter sets), hotspot_solve.m (method-of-lines solver, with an optional quasi-steady monomer reduction), hotspot_post.m (diagnostics: the three spatial maxima, Damköhler numbers, screening lengths, and the hotspot-condition check), run_all.m (driver reproducing every numerical result quoted in Sections 4 and 5 of the manuscript), make_figures.m (regenerates Figs. 2–9), and run_all_output.txt (the driver's output log).
Base MATLAB only; no toolboxes required. Tested on R2023a.
