Description

Abstract

The study focused on mapping the contributions of Indian scholars to economics research from 2001 to 2025. This study utilises data from Scopus, a comprehensive database for scholarly content.

Purpose: The primary goal of the research is to analyse quantitatively various aspects of Indian economic research.  Key areas of investigation include identifying prolific authors and institutions, dominant publication types, and significant funding agencies. A crucial objective is to determine the keyword co-occurrence network structure, which helps in understanding the thematic clusters within the field.

Methodology: The study employs bibliometric analysis, a method for impartially evaluating scientific research to identify hotspots, development trends, and important institutions. It uses statistical and mathematical techniques to assess the quantity and quality of publications, providing insights into productivity, performance, and relationships among research topics.

Findings: The study highlights a robust and rapidly growing research landscape in Indian economics, driven by a few key authors and institutions, predominantly publishing in journal articles, with a strong focus on economic growth, sustainable development, and emerging socioeconomic issues, largely supported by national funding agencies.
