CONASENSE Brainstorming Workshop 2026 Report

Description

The CONASENSE Brainstorming Workshop took place on 18 September 2026 as a hybrid event (fortiss in Munich and online), with circa 30 participants. Its purpose was to set the direction of the brainstorming network for 2027.

Key outcomes

  • Workstreams. The four working groups are replaced by lighter, interest-based workstreams: Edge-to-Cloud, AI-native networking, Quantum and Cybersecurity, with sustainability, human-centricity and experimentation as cross-cutting themes.

  • White papers. Four joint white papers were proposed (energy-aware IoT-to-Edge-to-Cloud continuum, human-centric 6G, quantum, AI-defined network management). Members register interest by mailing list, based on periodic announcements, and write together in Overleaf.

  • Member input. Live polls showed the strongest interest in AI-native networking and in project matchmaking as a new event type.

  • Publications. The Quantum Information Technologies Journal (QITJ), indexed to Scopus, is growing, with NATO and ETSI contributions, no article fee for the first two years and IEEE/ACM partnerships under discussion.

  • Partners and spheres. Talks from SESEI, CPQD and the Brazil 6G Project, and the new EU-INDIA-6G-BRIDGE CSA anchored in CONASENSE, strengthen the India and Brazil spheres.
