Description

This record contains analysis code, structured results, provenance records and small derived facility-level datasets supporting the study “Patient reported information provision and subsequent dialysis facility readmission performance in a two period observational study”.

The study examines the association between publicly reported patient information-provision scores and subsequent published readmission performance using 2023 and 2024 facility-level measures from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) End-Stage Renal Disease Quality Incentive Program, payment year 2026.

The package includes source-field reconciliation, cohort construction, the primary regression analysis, sensitivity analyses, figure-generation code, separate numerical implementation checks, frozen input specifications and SHA-256 checksums. An additional survey-volume support analysis is explicitly identified as a post-freeze descriptive analysis and does not replace the original primary model.

The archive excludes manuscript files, finished figures, third-party raw source files and software environments. Original CMS inputs must be obtained separately and must match the frozen source hashes specified in REPRODUCTION_SPEC.json. Instructions and tested dependency versions are provided in README.txt. A clean-extraction reproduction test passed using locally supplied frozen raw inputs.

The findings concern conditional associations between facility-level summaries. They do not establish patient-level causality, an effect of nurse-delivered education or independent clinical validation. Only publicly available aggregate facility data were used; no individual patient records or identifiable personal information were accessed.
