Description
Sustainable AI – AI for Sustainability (open-access reader)
Edited by Ana Adi, Alexandra Morton and Thomas Stoeckle, with the support of EUPRERA, this reader is addressed to communication scholars, educators and practitioners.
Its eighteen chapters move from AI as a wicked problem inside a polycrisis, through epistemic bias, cultural sustainability and the hidden human labour behind training data, to the material footprint of data centres and to governance models, monitoring frameworks and the case for keeping human judgement in the communicator’s craft. The contributions mix essays, research updates and provocations, written to be read by professionals as well as academics.
The book is also an AI experiment in itself with a novel AI use disclosure applied to the entire book and using LLMs to help with the design and production of the book.
