DINÂMICAS TERRITORIAIS E PODERES ENTRE A ANTIGUIDADE TARDIA E ALTA IDADE MÉDIA, NA REGIÃO DE BRAGA

We aim to show how settlement dynamics between Late Antiquity and the Early Middle Ages reflected the power dynamics and socio-cultural changes identified in the study area.
We carried out an approach guided by the theoretical models and analysis tools of Landscape Archaeology, seeking interpretations that brought together different inputs from distinct scientific areas, with special focus on the articulation of the analysis of archaeological, historical, paleoenvironmental and climatic data, looking for a renewed vision of one of the oldest debates in medieval historiography and archaeology.
We establish the main settlement models for each period considered and the key aspects underlying them.
