DYNAMIC CHARACTERISTICS OF NEW ACCELERATION MAGNETOELASTIC TRANSDUCERS

Description

It has been established that when a stepwise-varying acceleration is applied to the input of the new magnetoelastic acceleration transducer, its output signal represents the sum of a harmonic component, whose amplitude is proportional to the steady-state value of acceleration and whose frequency is equal to the excitation current frequency , and decaying electromagnetic and mechanical transient components, whose values depend, respectively, on the magnetic circuit time constant  and the damping coefficient of the mechanical circuit . In this case, sideband components appear in the output signal spectrum at angular frequencies equal to the sum and difference of the excitation current frequency  and the natural angular frequency of oscillations of the mechanical circuit . It has also been established that when an acceleration varying according to a harmonic law is applied to the input of the new transducer, its output signal represents the sum of decaying electromagnetic and mechanical transient components, whose values depend, respectively, on the parameters  and , as well as a steady-state component. The spectrum of the transient components of the output signal contains frequencies equal to , as well as frequencies equal to the sum and difference of the angular frequencies  and , while the spectrum of the steady-state component contains sideband frequencies equal to the sum and difference of the angular frequency of acceleration variation  and the frequency .
