Description
In this report we give an overview of the respective roles, responsibilities, and operational tasks of central and decentral research data management (RDM) support (i.e., data stewardship) at Leiden University. We describe the situation in 2025 and illustrate how the various support units operate together in a complementary system. This report serves as a case study, informing Leiden University colleagues working outside of the RDM realm about the model that we follow, as well as informing colleagues at other institutions who intend to (re-)structure their RDM support in a similar vain. The report is one of the deliverables of the Leiden Digital Competence Centre (LDCC) Task 1.6 “Expertise network and community for data stewardship”. It is not meant as a policy document.
